The GLOCK 17 was the first pistol designed and manufactured by the Austrian company GLOCK. It is a locked breech, short recoil 9mm semi-automatic pistol with a standard magazine capacity of 17 rounds using a modified Peter/Browning barrel locking system. The GLOCK 17, like all GLOCK pistols, has a well-known reputation for being extremely rugged and reliable.
Unlike other pistols, the GLOCK 17 and all others that GLOCK has since produced use a "safe action" semi-double action trigger system along with a striker instead of a hammer and firing pin. GLOCK pistols operate similarly to a conventional revolver in that there is no manual safety.
The GLOCK garnered worldwide attention soon after its release when it was suggested that it was a wholly plastic gun and would not show up on metal detectors. In fact, the slide, barrel and many other internal parts are made out of metal and its frame is made from an advanced polymer.

The BrickGun GLOCK 17 captures the style and function of the real GLOCK to a tee. Pull the slide back and the internal striker is cocked. Pull the trigger and the striker falls with a sharp "click". The slide can also be locked open, just like a real GLOCK when the magazine has been emptied. Flip the lock down with your thumb and the slide slams shut, ready to "fire" again.
The BrickGun GLOCK 17 is our first model to incorporate a shell ejector port. The port is closed when the slide is forward (and the breech is locked), but when you pull the slide back, the port opens and you can see down into the breech, again just like the real thing!
Like all the BrickGun models, the GLOCK 17 is 1:1 scale, fitting in your hand just like an actual pistol. It incorportes many of the design details of the real GLOCK so that it looks and feels as authentic as we believe you can get with Lego. The models are simple, yet intricately detailed and can typically be put together in under an hour.
All mechanics are actuated by rubber bands supplied with the kit.
